Where do we begin? I am so deeply grateful to my community who supported last Friday. Best Buddies is more than an organization— it’s a movement built on a simple yet powerful idea: everyone deserves a friend. For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, opportunities for friendship, jobs, and leadership aren’t always easy to find but Best Buddies changes that.

In the room and outside of it, people saw that a little love can change someone’s life. Together we raised a record-breaking $514,000 to support Best Buddies in Palm Beach County. We are able to continue to fund our inclusive living program, our school programs and dream a little bit bigger about what we can accomplish in the next year.

With your help, we celebrated connection and insured that even more people here in Palm Beach County can experience the power of community. Because of your generosity, our community is stronger kinder and more inclusive. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being a part of this mission for believing in it, and for helping us move closer to a world where everyone has a buddy.

We’ve been waiting all summer but it’s finally here!!! Champion of the Year season is back!!!! Best Buddies champion of the year is a competitive fundraising campaign that unites and recognizes leaders of inclusion here in Palm Beach County. These 10 champions have committed to raising funds and awareness for Best Buddies throughout the next nine weeks. Our champions advocate for the Best Buddies mission and will generate countless opportunities for friendships, jobs, leadership development, inclusive, living, and family support all in the name of making someone else’s life better right here at home.

I couldn’t be more proud of or excited for this group of go-getters, and am truly humbled by what they’ve already accomplished. They met their mission partners and in one night built connection, showed their best dance moves and began raising money.

I love this organization so much. It has given me new friends (see how tight my man is squeezing me?! 🤗), better connections with old friends, something to work on that’s outside of my daily life of raising my babies, and it’s also given us something to support and do together as a family. I am so thankful.
