Remember to keep laughing. It’s good for the soul and just good in general.

A few moments captured from yesterday’s game by my husband !
It’s some of the smallest things that mean the most, he took photos and videos so I could watch the game! I felt like such a little girl soaking it all in and enjoyed every second that we were there!
Thanks for always accompanying me on the big and little adventures!

Meet Recap
Now two days post-competition I am finally catching a moment to update you on my meet that happened on Friday at the Wichita Falls Athletic Club.
I think from an athletes perspective there is always the tendency to ask afterwards could I have done more? And with weight lifting I’m learning how to measure my successes differently. A few days before I would have told you that I didn’t give my best because the weight didn’t go up. But that’s not a good way of measuring my success. So how do you measure if you gave your best?
For me it started when I told my coach in June that I signed up for an August meet. From there I never missed a training session; I showed up every time. It didn’t matter that I was tired from a late night study or coming straight from a 3 hr lecture class where I was just sitting a majority of the time. I didn’t always do a good job of leaving “everything” at the door of the gym when I trained to focus on me and the barbell but I did my best. I have been in school (5 classes/wk) the entire duration of my competition prep and I have been working full time as well. There were a lot of hard days, there were a lot of long days but I did it. I never once stopped training. And I’m almost in tears writing this because I am proud of myself for doing that. For going up in front of so many people (which I extremely dislike) and being the only one (for the moment) that people are focused on, I’m proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone and did what I love to do! Yes, I did not hit the numbers that I wanted and that hits hard at my pride. But I am now ready to return with some fire in me cause I still will fight for that 100 Press and that 315 Deadlift. This is not the end; it is only a stepping stone for the next season.
Finally, I want to thank my coach @ ! I tell you a lot (but you don’t like to listen 😉) that I appreciate so much all that you do for me. The countless hours a week programming for me and giving me feedback. Supporting me through it all, I’m thankful to be your lifter and I’m ready for the next meet 💪
