The 19th edition of the Ayodhya Film Festival kicked off in grand style, with a packed auditorium and an enthusiastic audience marking the beginning of what promises to be a vibrant celebration of cinema. The festival opened with the screening of the critically acclaimed film The First Film, directed by Piyush Thakur, which has recently bagged two National Awards.
The selection of The First Film as the opening feature set a high bar for the rest of the festival. The film, which has been lauded for its storytelling and artistic vision, explores themes of identity, history, and the evolution of Indian cinema. Its recent national recognition added a sense of pride and excitement to the evening.
Festival organizers expressed their delight at the overwhelming response, noting that this year’s edition has drawn filmmakers, critics, students, and cinema lovers from across the country. “It’s heartening to see such enthusiasm. Ayodhya has a rich cultural legacy, and through this festival, we aim to blend tradition with modern cinematic expressions,” said one of the festival curators.
