This Page is created for promoting handicraft or hand made products of India. Our country has a strong cultural heritage but unfortunately due to lack of interest, this heritage is dyeing. Terracotta of Bankura, Dokra art of Bankura, Wood craft of shantiniketan, Patachitra of Medinipur and so on. I will be very happy if people from other state also come and share the handicraft of their local places. But some time it also happens that due to unavailability, we are unable to get them. So We will bring the original hand crafted products in front of you.

Patachitra, an ancient folk art of Bengal , is appreciated by art lovers all over the world for its effortless style of drawings, colours, lines and space usage.atachitra has been mentioned in Puranas, Epics, Ancient Literatures and Historical Descriptions. The style of painting is similar to the cave paintings of Mohenjodaro, Harappa and Ajanta . Pingla, west medinipur is the place where this art is popular. The artistes have God gifted talent which is rare and unique. I would not say that its dying, coz only a living thing can die. Its our bad luck that this art is a part of Bengal.Except few people nobody has ever thought of promoting this to the world. Had this been existing in a foreign land, by today they would have become a worldwide name. Its absolutely a ,matter of shame that only a handful of people are aware about it, as neither our Government, nor any department have ever brought this into limelight. Amidst dirth of basic amenities and desired recognition, the PataChitrakar's are putting up a commendable show of keeping their tradition alive and passing it on to their next generation.
Please share it to promote our own heritage.
