NEWS || Sextortion accused persons are not affiliated with AWJA
Association has never owned or considered them as Journalists
Anantnag, 04 Oct 2022: The Anantnag Working Journalists (AWJA) has clarified that the Sextortion accused Nadeem Nadu and Salman Shah are not associated with this association and they have never been accepted as Journalists.
In a press statement AWJA has termed this incident as very unfortunate and has demanded a high level probe in the allegations levelled against the said persons who were arrested by police on several charges. The association has time and again cautioned the general public and the administration about the nefarious designs and evil activities of pseudo and facebook journalists. But so far administration has not taken any step to curb this menace of pseudo journalism in valley, which is the root cause of corruption and blackmailing under the garb of Journalism.
AWJA in its statement has once again cautioned the people at the helm of affairs to contact Police and other law enforcing agencies in case of blackmailing and immoral activities on the pretext of Journalism.
Moreover Association in any case does not endorse such activities and has expressed full faith on the SIT made to probe the incident.
AWJA spokesperson in a statement said that news of fake journalists arrested for r**e, sextortion, trafficking has shocked the people of Kashmir valley and these self styled journalists neither have any qualification nor they are fit for journalism standards and ethics.
The Anantnag working journalists (AWJA) strongly condemned brutal activity done by these self proclaimed journalists.
The Anantnag working journalists Association (AWJA) once again requested the administration to take serious note of fake journalism which has became a menace for general public in Kashmir particularly in district Anantnag.

News || Srinagar Police Arrests Self Proclaimed Journalist Nadeem Nadu In R**e, Blackmailing And Extortion Case
Srinagar 01 Oct 2022 {KNN}: On 30th September 2022 Srinagar police arrested a self proclaimed journalist Nadeem Ahmed Ganie Nadu S/o Mukhtar Ahmed Ganie R/o Qazibagh, Anantnag in a r**e case. On a complaint received from a girl (name withheld) that the accused lured her through his whatsapp group made for people seeking help, forced her into a sexual relationship with himself after fraudently sedating herself in course of that help. The victim also alleged that the accused took her objectionable pictures after sedating her and used these to blackmail her into forced sexual In*******se many times.
The accused also took her gold ornaments in course of blackmailing her. Pertinent to mention the lady was a student in an institution in central kashmir at the time of the occurrence of this crime.
A Case under FIR no 50/22 in sections 376,384,506 of IPC has been registered in Women PS Srinagar District.
Investigation is undergoing in the case to unearth more facts and some more allegations made by the victim in this case. Keeping in view the heinous nature of the crime, an SIT has been constituted headed by Owais Wani JKPS DySP Headquarters and comprising of Sleet Shah JKPS, DySP/PC, Khalida Parveen, SHO women PS and ASI Mohd Yousuf Shah as members.
Srinagar Police assures all its citizens that crime against Women will not be tolerated at all and stringent punishment will be given to those involved. {KNN}
