Sharp shooters make their mark in 15th Punjab state inter school shooting championship-2014 -... The winners were awarded cash prizes, which included Rs 21,000 with a gold medal, Rs 14,000 with a silver medal and Rs 7000 with a bronze medal. A total of 16 events were played in the championship in the under-15 and under-19 categories.

Amritsar Rifle Club was allotted the 15th Punjab State Inter School Shooting Championship, 2014, by Punjab Rifle Shooting Association, which was held at the 10M Shooting Range, GNDU Campus Amritsar. The tournament dates were 19th August to 21st August 2014 and concluded with 268 participants from 19 Districts of Punjab, where categories were divided in two variants according to the age as youth(U-15) and junior(U-19).
This tournament was conducted under the aegis of S. Bikram Singh Majithia, who is also the President of Punjab Rifle Shooting Association(PRSA).
The closing ceremony, at the end of the tournament was conducted at the Guru Nanak Bhawan, GNDU, where the winners of all 16 events were presented cash prizes (Rs 21000 to Gold, Rs 14000 to Silver and Rs 7000 to bronze)by out Chief Guest, S. Bikram Singh Majithia and Guest of Honors, Raja K.S. Sidhu (Secretary General, Punjab Olympic Association), Avneet Sidhu (Olympian and World Champion), S. Jatinder Singh Aulakh and more.
S. Bikram Singh Majithia has also announced Rs 5.2 Crores for appraisal of the Shooting Sport in Punjab put of which a sum of Rs 2 Crores will be spent on making a world class shooting range in Amritsar.
