How Do I overcome Anxiety at Speaking Test

Speaking test is another challenge for candidates. During the test, most candidates may become unorganized due to anxiety. You could have been a victim of this. If you re-sit for the test, you will likely have a different examiner, but then the structure of the interview would still be the same as your prior experience. The examiner would read the same script to you, but you should do better at your next attempt. It will be helpful to rehearse speaking native English. The reason is so that your confidence will be enhanced at speaking naturally and fluently, which is the most important criteria in any speaking test. It helps you to manage anxiety and ultimately improve your performance.

Is IELTS too difficult?

IELTS is no more tedious than any other tests. The questions are easy and designed to evaluate how well you can use the English language – not to trick you or test your views. As with any test, IELTS demands thorough preparation. Also, remember that there is no success or failure in IELTS. The results are assessed on a 9-band scale (1 being the lowest, and nine being the highest). This scale has been so consistent for over 20 years. The score you need is determined by the prerequisites of your visa or the institution/organization to which you are applying. Always remember to verify what score you need before you take the test.

Remember, to succeed in IELTS writing or listening, you just need to know the contextual meaning of every word and not its exact meaning.

It's possible that you might meet a few words in your IELTS test for the very first time. And you won't have a dictionary for a quick lookup.

So, whenever you bump into a new or a difficult word, don't run for your dictionary.... instead, take a pause, and try to determine its meaning with the help of its context.
