Prayas - Organization for Sustainable Development
Prayas is a voluntary development organization working to help the vulnerable groups of society.
Prayas is facilitating capacity building activities, natural resource management projects, Micro finance program and livelihood activities. The primary strategy is to provide inputs for building up community-based local organizations to promote long-term sustainability. Prayas is getting technical and financial support through partnership with different NGOs and the government.

The program has started in both Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh since the past one month with full vigor.
Mostly the are homemakers and do some or the other work to support their families. Hence, the learners specifically requested the classes to be held in the late evening or nighttime usually around 9 pm to 10 pm. So that, they can complete household chores and can concentrate in the class.
The late evening classes have been observed to have high attendance and good performance of learners. The program has brought a ray of hope in the lives of these women as they can learn to read and write even at this age.

PRAYAS, Gujarat is working in collaboration with Gujarat State AIDS Control Society (GSACS) and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on a Target Intervention project of HIV AIDS awareness among the migrant laborers in Vatva, GIDC.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a devastating toll on these families. They have been hit hardest by the economic crisis. Feeding India, Zomato and PRAYAS distributed 500 ration kits to the identified poor, needy and differently abled affected people in the second week of January, 2022.

More than 50% drivers and cleaners earn less than βΉ 15,000 a month, not insured, donβt save and are not aware of basic financial concepts and practices. Financial Literacy+ Program support drivers, cleaners, mechanics (with respect we call them Commercial Vehicle Crew members, CVCM) and their women family members in Kutch, Morbi, Jamnagar and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat. It helps them to learn basic financial concepts, saving and insurance practices, getting benefits through government schemes linkage. Program is supported by Chola Investment and Finance Company Limited and implemented by PRAYAS Organisation for Sustainable Development, Gujarat.
