In Venezuela, overcrowded, under-serviced temporary shelters and ongoing rain are raising the risk of disease outbreaks, making urgent access to safe water more vital than ever.

In heavily-affected Naiguatá, we installed water filters for 210 people, and rolled out new handwashing stations at a local school and at one of the main displacement camps, bringing safe water access to hundreds more.

IsraAID is on the ground, supporting affected communities with safe spaces where children can release stress safely, reconnect, and process trauma. Every week, our three Child-Friendly Spaces reach around 120 children and adolescents, helping restore a sense of safety and routine where needed most.

As DRC faces a growing Ebola outbreak, IsraAID, alongside on-the-ground partners, is working to help prevent the spread of disease and keep communities safe.

Bleach production has begun for community distribution, and the first handwashing stations are already helping children and families access safer hygiene facilities. Our emergency response is reaching people through the places they already trust — community markets, healthcare facilities, and door-to-door outreach to households that are harder to reach.

In the weeks ahead, community trainings and wider bleach distribution will expand across affected areas, helping communities build the knowledge and resources they need to protect themselves from Ebola.

For the people of Kamajonkol, this isn't a choice. It's this, or walk 7 km to an overcrowded, overused hand-pumped borehole.

In this remote host community in Kakuma, children spend their days digging deep into a dry riverbed in search of water. Some days there's nothing to find. On the days there is, the water is dirty and unsafe to drink - but it's all they have.

This is not an unsolvable problem. Kamajonkol doesn't need a miracle. They need investment. They need infrastructure. They need our support.

The solution exists. We just need you to help make it happen.

Today marks one month since the earthquakes in Venezuela. More than 5,300 people have been confirmed killed, 23,000 forced from their homes, and tens of thousands are still missing.

Today — and every day — our thoughts are with affected communities in Venezuela, as they live through this emergency and begin the long recovery ahead.

For the past month, IsraAID's team has been working hand-in-hand with local partners to deliver what communities say they need most: safe water, sanitation and showers, hygiene supplies, child-friendly spaces, and mental health support for local frontline workers and search and rescue teams.

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, access to safe water and sanitation in the hardest-hit areas is limited.

Our team is installing emergency water filtration systems and handwashing stations at displacement sites, distributing family hygiene kits with essential supplies, constructing new latrines to improve sanitation, and assessing water needs to help communities access safe, reliable services.
