I want to share with you one of my great passions: the desert.
Desert, which is about two-thirds the size of Israel, was a significant milestone in the forming of the nation of Israel: early leaders - Moses, David - appeared and came from the desert .It allowed a clearing for the formation of Israel as a united nation. There is something in it that allows these conditions. It is quiet, devoid of stimuli and temptations. There is humility, tolerance and perseverance. All you need to build something true and accurate.
The desert has this ability to connect you to these simple things: water, shade, serenity. Inside of it there is no importance to which car you are driving or which apartment you are living in. For it everyone who enters is equal.
If there is something the desert excels in its time. It seems that it doesn’t change as time passes. But this is an illusion. It changes constantly but you need time, patience and sensitivity in order to observe it.
Today, as I live in Tel Aviv city you might say the exact opposite of the desert serenity. I still keep inside a small piece of desert, when I need quit and guidance I can approach it.
It is a clearing that allows to choose from a empty space and go back to the right path.
Each and every one of us can use a piece of desert, a place to reorient. Ultimately it is the place we all came from.
