בדוק את התמונה הפרופיל של החשבון - אם תמונת הפרופיל נראית מוזרה או שזהה לתמונה שמופיעה בגוגל או באתרים אחרים, ייתכן שזהו חשבון מזוייף.

בדוק את פעילות החשבון - אם החשבון לא מפרסם תוכן או פעילות בפייסבוק, אם יש לו מעט חברים או עוקבים, או שהפעילות שלו מוגבלת לקבוצות ספציפיות, ייתכן שזהו חשבון מזוייף.

בדוק את המידע האישי של החשבון - אם המידע האישי שמופיע בפרופיל אינו מתאים לתמונת הפרופיל או לפעילות החשבון, ייתכן שזהו חשבון מזוייף.

חפש את החשבון במנועי חיפוש - אם יש לך חשדות כי החשבון הוא מזוייף, ניתן לחפש את החשבון במנועי חיפוש כדי לראות אם נמצא מידע נוסף על החשבון או אם התמונה הפרופיל או המידע האישי מופיעים במקומות אחרים ברשת.

השתמש בכלי לזיהוי חשבונות מזויפים - ישנם כלים כמו "Social Catfish" או "Tine
