Description:
Project C43 AKA Alcohome is a venture founded by a group of young entrepreneurs from the nightlife industry. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospitality sector—and especially bars and nightclubs—suffered significant losses. Faced with closed venues and unsellable inventory, the founders created Alcohome: an online alcohol delivery service offering everything from unique liquor brands to expertly crafted cocktails—drinks that were once only available at bars—delivered directly to the customer’s doorstep.
As the business grew and lockdowns ended, the team decided to evolve Alcohome from a purely digital platform into a physical retail experience. The goal was to create a space that combines the charm and familiarity of a traditional shop with the same attention to quality and curation.
The design of the space revolves around two main interactive sales stations where customers can taste, browse, and discuss wine, spirits, and everything in between. The architectural and material choices are deliberately minimal, creating a calm and focused retail environment that places the spotlight firmly on the product. The experience is intentionally reminiscent of a gallery or museum, where displays and merchandise are carefully framed against bold, uniform surfaces of color and texture.
Above the central tasting tables, a custom-designed light fixture by the studio hangs prominently. Its form echoes the material language of the space, drawing inspiration from the textured plaster finishes used throughout, with soft brush-like strokes that give depth and warmth to the minimal setting.
At the back of the store lies the warehouse, service center, and administrative area, organized around a large central wooden table. This zone bleeds subtly into the front retail space, creating a unique tension and dialogue between two atmospheres: one vibrant, youthful, and operationally active; the other calm, contemplative, and product-focused. This contrast reflects the dual identity of the project—energized entrepreneurial spirit alongside a conscious, curated display.
