Today, on International Women’s Day, we recognize the vital role women play in transforming conflict and building reconciliation in communities around the world.

At Musalaha, we are deeply grateful for the women who courageously work for justice and peace, often in the face of violence and exclusion. Their leadership, resilience, and commitment remind us that reconciliation is not possible without the voices and participation of women.

We also honor the efforts of women who challenge patriarchal norms and systems. Their work opens pathways toward dignity, healing, and a more just future for all. 💪🏼💖

Last week, Musalaha’s Organizational Development Manager, Maaike, and Young Adults Project Manager, Saleem, represented Musalaha at the official kick-off of the TRUST (Trauma, Resilience, and Understanding for Supporting Transformation) project in Helsinki, Finland, marking a decisive step forward in Musalaha’s long-term commitment to trauma-informed peacebuilding.

Together with its partner Holy Land Trust in Bethlehem, Musalaha is launching this ambitious three-year pilot project to rigorously map, understand, and address the deeply contextualized trauma experienced by youth living under military occupation, violence, and prolonged instability. By indigenizing trauma-response methodologies, the project challenges one-size-fits-all approaches and centers locally grounded, culturally rooted practices that empower young people to heal, reclaim agency, and build resilient futures, seeking to strengthen not only individual well-being, but the social fabric of their communities.

As the project unfolds, Musalaha is reinforced by new strategic partnerships with RKI in Finland and Südwind in Austria, whose expertise will amplify trauma-informed knowledge, expand training cohorts, and advance media advocacy and public campaigning. Together, these partnerships position TRUST as a catalytic initiative: transforming trauma into resilience and collective action toward a more just and life-affirming future.
