Today, we journeyed to Nebi Yakin, where Abraham stood in faith and dialogue with God advocating for the people of S***m and Gomorrah. As my kids' faces reflected in the ancient cistern's waters, I was reminded of Proverbs 27:19:

כַּ֭מַּיִם הַפָּנִ֣ים לַפָּנִ֑ים כֵּ֤ן לֵֽב־הָ֝אָדָ֗ם לָאָדָֽם
Just as water reflects the face, so one human heart reflects another

On this sukkot holiday may our hearts, like these still waters, mirror joy and love for our fellow man. And may we celebrate the release of all of the hostages on this coming Simchat Torah! Chag Sameach!
