This month in Bogotá, MASHAV alumni came together for an evening of reconnecting, sharing experiences and looking ahead.

The gathering brought together alumni from across the years, including one who completed a MASHAV course in 1977.

Also present were Israel’s Ambassador to Colombia Vivian Aisen, Deputy Chief of Mission Guy Nir, and MASHAV Head Eynat Shlein, who traveled to Colombia especially for the occasion.

A wonderful evening of reconnecting with members of the MASHAV community and celebrating the lasting connections built through MASHAV cooperation. 🇮🇱🇨🇴

From sustainable production to post-harvest management, a three-day Indo-Israel training brought together 27 officers from 7 Indian states working on Pomegranates in the Center of Excellence in Solapur. 🇮🇳🇮🇱

The program combined technical sessions on planting material, crop protection and sustainable cultivation with field visits, farmer interaction and practical learning in harvesting, grading, packing and post-harvest management.

A hands-on exchange of knowledge and experience supporting pomegranate production across India. 🌱

Practical approaches to urban water management. 🇮🇱🇮🇳

MASHAV joined India’s AMRUT Mission Directorate, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and ICCW at IIT Madras for a course on urban water resources management and non-revenue water (NRW) reduction.

MASHAV Water Attaché to India Noa Amsalem shared Israeli experience alongside Indian water professionals, with sessions covering water losses, leak detection, emergency water supply and cyber preparedness.

Capacity Building in action 🌱🇮🇱🇸🇳

MASHAV expert Ofer Kahani led a training-of-trainers session at the Thiès Forestry Center in Senegal, sharing Israeli expertise on horticultural plant production with local Water and Forests officers.

The training, held on September 15–16, focused on developing local expertise so that knowledge and practical skills can continue to be shared and adapted to local needs.

🇮🇱🤝🌏 Strengthening cooperation across Asia.

Yesterday, Amb. Olga Slov, Director of the Department for Planning, Evaluation, and Partnerships at MASHAV, participated in the presentation of the CICA Fund for Development Assistance Agencies and key stakeholders at the CICA Headquarters in Astana, Kazakhstan.

She presented MASHAV’s work, highlighting past cooperation with CICA member states and expressing MASHAV’s readiness to continue cooperating and sharing knowledge and experience.

Strengthening development cooperation with Colombia. 🇮🇱🇨🇴

During her visit to Bogotá, Head of MASHAV Amb. Eynat Shlein held meetings with Colombian officials on cooperation in agriculture, water management, environmental issues, health, and emergency preparedness.

Discussions focused on capacity building, sharing Israel’s experience and expertise, and identifying opportunities for further cooperation.

Reconnecting with MASHAV alumni in Chile. 🇮🇱🇨🇱

After a decade, the Shalom Club in Chile brought together MASHAV alumni, from participants who attended courses as early as 1988 to recent graduates.

The gathering was an opportunity to reconnect, exchange experiences and hear how their training in Israel continues to support their professional work, while strengthening the alumni network and future cooperation.
