Last week we hosted a blood drive with Magen David Adom and with the option of bone marrow and white blood cell swab with a Gift of Life. 🚑

Thank you to everyone who donated blood and swabbed for a cause!

Last week we had a movie night where we watched Shrek! 🎬
We had soup, hot chocolate, smore's, and other snacks to enjoy with the movie! ☕🎉

"My name is A', I am 22 years old and I made aliya from Colombia. I drafted to the IDF two years ago into the Israeli special unit Duvdevan that is part of the commando brigade. This elite unit is in charge of doing special undercover operations that are classified information.

After a long and hard training, the moment of truth arrives. The unit specializes in arresting the most wanted and dangerous terrorists. All this to prevent a terrorist attack and save Israeli citizens.

At first, I explained to my parents what the unit was about, but not what I specifically do so they wouldn't panic. At the same time that I feel that I am risking my life, I also think that it was the best decision to have joined the army because I can defend my country.

I achieved all this by giving my all, but I am sure that I am not alone in this. After an intense week in the army,
I return home and I come to The Michael Levin Base because they are the ones who support me, I appreciate that very much."

The Thanksgiving event last week at with The Michael Levin Base at Nefesh B'Nefesh with Ori for Lone Bnot Sherut - Nefesh B'Nefesh and Nefesh B'Nefesh-FIDF Lone Soldiers was spectacular! 🎉
We Mayer Malin and his band playing music, delicious food, dancing, dessert, and a raffle with special prizes! It was a wonderful time and we can't wait to go back next year! 🎉😊

We had the honor of celebrating Thanksgiving with The Michael Levin Base at Nefesh B'Nefesh with Ori for Lone Bnot Sherut - Nefesh B'Nefesh and Nefesh B'Nefesh-FIDF Lone Soldiers! 🎉

We welcomed over 350 lone soldiers and b'not sherut for live music by Mayer Malik, amazing food, and a raffle! 👏

Today is National Immigrants Day!

Since 1880, Jews from all around the world have been immigrating to Israel. Every year since then, there are thousands of families and individuals who choose to make Israel their home. 🇮🇱

"My name is Julia, I came to Israel this past summer from New York to do Sherut Leumi. I work in a special needs school which integrates Arab and Jewish children together in the classroom.

Growing up, I always worked with special needs kids, so when I was given the opportunity in Israel- I took it! It’s rewarding to work with these children, even though it's exhausting, because we are giving them the environment to learn and interact with other children in a safe and loving environment.

It is difficult sometimes to be here alone without my family, but The Michael Levin Base has been an amazing support system for me and a place where I can come to hang out and relax. The resources they have also really helps me with my adjustment into living independently in Israel.”
