CIEE Haifa

The CIEE Study Center in Haifa is a place for U.S. undergraduate students to spend a semester or year seeing and feeling Israel in an academic setting.
On the surface, a typical semester with CIEE Haifa is comprised of 15-16 semester credits including one mandatory language class in either Arabic or Hebrew, a for-credit internship option, excursions, field trips, cultural activities, volunteer opportunities, and on-campus living with both local and foreign students. But what does it feel like to be in arguably the most contentious and complex place in the world? There are no words. It can only be experienced.

During our 4 days orientation, we play a game- each student receives 3 pictures: one of a place on campus, one of a place in Haifa city and one of a local traditional food. The first one to find and take a picture with all three wins a gift card to the best coffee place on campus!

Having a tour at Jisr Zarqa, one of the poorest and best-located villages in Israel. We had a tour around the village with its blue-painted houses and amazing beach, met very hospitable people and had a great home-cooked lunch.
