Pre-reproductive stress in adolescent female rats alters oocyte microRNA expression and offspring phenotypes: pharmacological interventions and putative mechanisms 06/02/2021

Our paper is out in Translational Psychiatry!
We show that pre-reproductive stress to female rats affects mRNA and miRNA expression in blood and oocytes, and impacts behavior and gene expression in offspring.
Read more here:

Pre-reproductive stress in adolescent female rats alters oocyte microRNA expression and offspring phenotypes: pharmacological interventions and putative mechanisms Pre-reproductive stress (PRS) to adolescent female rats alters anxiogenic behavior in first (F1)- and second-generation (F2) offspring and increases mRNA expression of corticotropin-releasing factor receptor type 1 (Crhr1) in oocytes and in neonate offspring brain. Here, we ask whether the expressio...

Are the Neural Correlates of Consciousness in the Front or in the Back of the Cerebral Cortex? Clinical and Neuroimaging Evidence 07/10/2017

Are the Neural Correlates of Consciousness in the Front or in the Back of the Cerebral Cortex? Clinical and Neuroimaging Evidence In this Perspective, we will critically review the clinical and neuroimaging evidence for the involvement of the front versus the back of the cortex in specifying conscious contents and discuss promising research avenues.

האם אפשר לסמוך על סטטיסטיקה? | רן לוי | עושים היסטוריה 14/09/2017

מה הסיכוי שהסטטיסטיקה תהרוג אתכם?
What are the odds that statistics can get you killed?

Our collaboration with the Akbarian lab at Mt. Sinai....
This study shows how the 3D structure of the genome is affected by the early environment, using a groundbreaking technique that allows to "travel back in time" from the time damage is seen to the time it had actually happened.

How much does the UK spend when it comes to mental health research? 09/08/2016

Some sad data on mental health funding in the UK:
1/4 people suffer from mental illness in the UK every year, but only 5.8% of funding goes to mental illness. About 300% less than cancer research. I suspect the numbers are very similar to what goes on in the US and Israel. Lose-lose situation.
