Rest in peace, Professor Arday. Your work made space for so many others to imagine belonging differently.

The GORM Gathering Year 3 programme isn't finished. That's on purpose.

Help shape the room 250 people will be in this year. This one's built around a theme: when cultures collide, better stories are told.

So tell us:

→ A panel or speaker you'd want to see on stage
→ An activity you'd want running through the day
→ A burning topic that fits the theme

Drop it in the comments or send us a DM. The best ideas make it into the room.

That's a wrap on The Close-Up Summer Residency 2026 🎬

in Laragh, Co. Wicklow. Ten emerging filmmakers.
Ten short film treatments pitched to an external panel on the final evening.

Our 2026 cohort: .films .vrse .merriman .

Huge congratulations to Kayleigh Corcoran, winner of The Close-Up Summer Residency 2026, who takes €2,500 towards developing her short film I'm Always Here.

You'll see it at the GORM Gathering this October.

The joy of this year was watching the friendships form. A cohort already making plans to meet up and collaborate.

To our facilitators: Lead .producer & who came on at the last minute and completely saved the day!

Facilitators , Ray Roantree, Gerry Stembridge who gave their life experience, their knowledge, their time and their energy so generously in the sessions.

And to , our 2025 winner, who came back to screen Go Home and answer questions, a massive thank you.

The build-up to Close-Up is long and it takes all hands on deck. But we've made something we're truly proud of. That's four years.

We wanted to share Aoife Barry's powerful commentary in her The Times and Sunday Times Sunday column. Shenaptures the urgency of the conversations at our National Seminar on Intercultural Competence and Racial Equity in the Arts, which took place on Wednesday 10th of June.

Real change requires more than good intentions, it demands action, accountability and leadership.

We're calling on arts and cultural organisations to join our Pioneer Partners programme and lead the way in embedding intercultural competence and racial equity into everyday practice.

The time for action is now.

With thanks to the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport for supporting this important initiative.

The Close Up Summer Residency 2026 cohort are flat out preparing for the Pitch’N’Mix Showcase, where each participant will pitch for €2,500 to bring their project to life.

It's been a jam packed week of developing the skills to manage a film budget, choosing best camera gear and editing software, how to format your script. Participants have learned the importance of creative choices in the edit and taking the script from paper to screen with the support of industry experts such as Ray Roantree and Gerry Stembridge who have been so generous with their time and knowledge 🎥

The cohort were delighted to pick the brain of 2025 Close Up Summer Residency winner, . And they had many, many questions!!!!

Everyone has worked so hard, we are so proud of them and the little tight knit bunch they have formed thid week, spending a lot of time together.

We wish them the very best of luck with the pitches tomorrow 💙

We're thrilled to introduce the fourth cohort of The Close-Up Summer Residency.

Over the next week, these emerging creatives will come together at in Wicklow for an immersive filmmaking experience designed to develop ideas, build confidence, and strengthen creative community.

As part of GORM's Wideshot Programme, participants will spend the week developing original short film concepts, taking part in industry-led workshops, receiving mentorship, and preparing to pitch their projects at the end of the residency. The programme is designed to deepen storytelling craft, technical skills, and collaborative creation in a focused environment

Throughout the week, participants will learn from industry professionals, share ideas with one another, and take part in the Pitch 'N' Mix Showcase, where one project will be awarded **€2,500 in seed funding** to support the development of their short film.

But beyond the workshops, Close-Up is also about something harder to measure.

It's about shared meals.
Late-night conversations.
Skills-sharing.
Creative risks.
New friendships.
And the feeling of finding people who understand why storytelling matters to you.

We're excited to see what this year's cohort creates together.

Here's to a week of creativity, community, and of course, good food ❤️

Please join us in welcoming the 2026 Close-Up cohort.

Individuals commit crimes. Communities don’t.

A room full of storytellers discovering they’re not alone.

At the second annual Wideshot Programme Open Day in Dublin, emerging creatives gathered to connect, hear from programme alumni and explore pathways into Ireland’s screen sector.

One participant shared:

“Having no prior formal creative experience it was good to know that I’m not alone and that everyone has a unique story upbringing to share.”

That’s the heart of Wideshot Programme.
Creating spaces where storytellers realise their voice belongs in the room.

St. Patrick was a migrant 🍀

But today we are seeing a turn on how migrants are painted in Ireland.

We are on a mission to change that narrative and unify across our differences
