Senior Mechanical Engineer – Maritime

Our client is seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for precision and innovation to join their engineering department. They design and build world-class luxury yachts that set global standards in craftsmanship and design. This Senior Engineer role will strengthen their engineering team and serve as a vital link between engineering and production.

Your Role
As a Senior Production Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that engineering solutions are delivered with precision, efficiency, and full alignment with production requirements. You will serve as the vital link between the engineering office and the shipyard floor, translating complex technical concepts into practical, high-quality results.
Lead detailed design, engineering activities, and 3D modelling to ensure accuracy and manufacturability
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to engineers and apprentices, including inspections
Ensure full compliance with industry standards, classification societies, and flag state regulations
Identify and resolve technical challenges through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Review and approve drawings and technical documentation prior to release
Drive continuous improvement by developing and enhancing engineering standards and processes
Coordinate closely with production teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure technical feasibility and ex*****on
Act as the primary technical interface between Engineering and Production to support seamless project delivery

You are a motivated and detail-focused professional who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, hands-on approach. You excel at bridging the gap between engineering precision and real-world production demands.

Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
At least 5 years’ experience in an engineering role within shipbuilding or yacht construction
Proficiency in 3D AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and Cadmatic
Strong written and spoken English skills
Experience in exterior engineering, moving equipment, and equipment integration
Solid understanding of cable routing, panel layouts, onboard systems, weight control, and budgeting
In-depth knowledge of yacht construction methods and production processes
Analytical mindset with a strong focus on quality and performance
