Slane Tidy Towns is calling on all residents to help us maintain and improve our lovely Village! Tidy Towns is a great example of how a public-private partnership can work to the benefit of all in our society. Ready to use your brown bin but need to check what you can put in it?
You can put all food waste (except cooking oils) in your brown bin, including:
๐ง Dairy products
๐ฅ Eggs
๐ฅฉ Raw and cooked meat
๐ Fish
๐ฆด Bones
๐งป Food-soiled paper napkins, paper towels and pizza boxes
๐ฑ Garden clippings, like small branches, grass, leaves and plants
Ask your bin collector for a brown bin and check when they collect it.

Great to see good weather back this week-end..! โ
The Navan road got a great clean-up..!
The crew also worked in the area around the boat on the Dublin exit..!
They hope to work on flowers for the boat next week, so come along to join them on either Wednesday or Saturday..!!

Huge thank you to Meath County Council staff for clearing the front garden of Clonkeen House.
Slane Tidy Towns followed up by collecting a significant amount of litter.

Flower pots got a good watering yesterday evening.
All Slane Tidy Towns tubs and hanging baskets looking great - as do the ones outside Hardings and the Conyngham Arms Hotel.
Well done everyone!

Did you know fines for littering and dog fouling will increase this year? ๐ฎ
โฌ๏ธ On 1 September 2026, on-the spot fines for littering and dog fouling will increase from โฌ150 to โฌ250. The Government is working on bringing these changes into law.

Please join us tomorrow evening, Wednesday 17th of June, from 7-9pm.
We will do a bit of litter picking around the village, and we need help with watering the flower pots!
