***The Odd Couple Female Version***
Wow, that was a great opening night last night and we're all ready for night two!
"If you want to know me, come and live with me" goes the saying.
It was a nice gesture of Olive to invite her friend Florence to live with her when her husband of many years, the 5ft 2 and hirsute Sidney, dumps her. But things rapidly go south for the roommates. Amid all the wise cracks, and the side-splitting put-downs, this is a story about friends helping each other through hard times.
Running until Saturday 20th at 8pm nightly.

***The Odd Couple Female Version Opens Tomorrow***
Need a laugh with friends? Grab the girls and head to the The Moat Theatre Naas for our summer comedy show. This year, it's from the pen of the king of Broadway comedy, Neil Simon, author of such hits as Barefoot in the Park, Plaza Suite and the Sunshine Boys.
When perfectionist Florence separates from her husband, her friends are concerned for her fragile state of mind. Laid-back Olive generously issues an invite to stay with her in her apartment, and the two women embark on a voyage of discovery. They soon learn that what may seem like endearing foibles from a distance can become unbearable torments at close quarters. Olive hosts a games night and into the mix come Renée, Sylvie, Vera and Mickey, friends of Florence and Olive, members of an all-girl group of Trivial Pursuit aficionados. Florence and Olive’s slide into mutual loathing culminates in a disastrous date night with their neighbours, the hapless Costazuela brothers.
Opening tomorrow night, running until Saturday 20th.

The Odd Couple
Olive plays matchmaker; Florence is not impressed!
The dinner date guests are the broken-English speaking Costazuela brothers.
Jesus, like his brother Manolo, is kind-hearted and eager to comfort Florence, but their cultural differences and Florence’s dramatic personality make the situation hilariously awkward.
Patricia Voon plays Olive, Louise Donnelly is Florence and Nick Pearson-Buffoni is Jesus.

Nick has also participated in several self-devised plays for CSM (Cork School of Music) and the Cat Club's 10x10 short play event.

Florence and Olive are part of a group of Trivial Pursuit afficionados. Meet the gals!
Sylvie (Sinead Mooney) is desperately trying to stop smoking, and so sucks on lollipops or chews gum. She can get irritated with her friends, but has a good sense of humour, especially about her husband.
Mickey (Teresa Clifford) is a police officer who is down-to-earth, plain talking, and has a good understanding of people. Sometimes she can take the “police bit” too far and she tries very hard to be in control of all situations.
Renée (Samantha Coventry) is Sylvie’s best friend. She can be very plain-spoken, especially when she points out Olive’s failings as a hostess, and then Flo’s. She is single and dating a doctor.
Vera (Rossagh Cusack) is very sweet, very nice, somewhat spacey, and, although quite smart, is often a step or two behind her friends. She’s very funny but doesn’t realise it.

Well, here they are: the very odd couple. House-proud Florence comes to live with her friend Olive, who has different values around housework, to say the least. It isn't long before this act of friendship turns into acts of mutual loathing!
Olive is played by Patricia Voon; Florence is Louise Donnelly.
