Cupcake 101: baking them properly

Before your cupcakes go in, check these five things:
🔥 Preheat the oven fully
A cold oven can cause poor or uneven rising.

🌡️ Use the correct temperature
Too hot can give you cracked, peaked tops; too low can leave cupcakes pale and heavy.

📍 Bake on the middle shelf
This gives the most even heat around the tray.

🚪 Don’t open the door too early
Wait until the cupcakes have set, or the sudden temperature drop may cause them to sink.

⏱️ Check before the timer ends
Ovens vary. Look for tops that spring back gently and a skewer with no wet batter.
