Feast of Corpus Christi – Eucharistic Procession:
You are warmly invited to join us for the Feast of Corpus Christi on this Sunday, June 7th at the 12:30pm Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King.
Following the celebration of the Eucharist, we will take to the streets of Mullingar for a Eucharistic Procession, led by the Mullingar Town Band and joined by the boys and girls who received their First Holy Communion in May.
As the monstrance (from the Latin monstrare, meaning to show) carries Jesus truly present in the Eucharist, we bring Christ out from the sanctuary of the Cathedral and into the heart of our town of Mullingar—past homes, businesses, shops, and restaurants. It is a powerful sign that the Risen Lord walks with us: through our streets and through every dimension of our lives—our families, our work, our recreation, sport, trade, and culture. Christ desires to bless our world, to draw us into deeper adoration, reverence, and love.
After the procession, all are invited to stay for light refreshments, with ice cream and coffee vans outside the Cathedral.
Let us come together as a parish family in faith and joy to honour the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, and to give public witness to our love for him who walks among us.
The Route for the Eucharistic Procession:
The procession will leave the Cathedral and proceed onto Bishopsgate Street.
It will continue down Mary Street.
At the junction with Pearse Street, turn left.
Proceeding along Pearse Street before turning left onto Castle Street.
Continuing along Castle Street, turning left once more onto Bishopsgate Street.
Then proceed up Bishopsgate Street towards the Cathedral.
Upon returning to the Cathedral, the celebration will conclude with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
There will be light refreshments from the ice cream 🍦 and coffee ☕️ vans.
We ask participants to follow the directions of stewards, the Civil Defence and An Garda Síochana.

Here’s hoping for blue skies over Croke Park on Sunday — and an even brighter day with a Westmeath victory over Dublin.
The county looks forward with great pride and hope as Westmeath contest only the sixth Leinster Final in our history. And who knows — maybe by Sunday evening the Delaney Cup will be making its long-awaited journey back to Mullingar, bringing scenes reminiscent of that unforgettable historic triumph in 2004.
We wish Mark McHugh, the players, management, and everyone involved the very best on their big day in Croke Park.
Enjoy this wonderful occasion everyone! Beirigí bua! Iarmhí Abú! 🏆🏐😁

Palm Sunday:
Dear brothers and sisters,
since the beginning of Lent until now
we have prepared our hearts by penance and charitable works.
Today we gather together to herald with the whole Church
the beginning of the celebration
of our Lord’s Paschal Mystery:
that is to say, of his Passion and Resurrection.
For it was to accomplish this mystery
that he entered his own city of Jerusalem.
Therefore, with all faith and devotion,
let us commemorate
the Lord’s entry into the city for our salvation,
following in his footsteps,
so that, being made by his grace partakers of the Cross,
we may have a share also in his Resurrection and in his life.
