We’re looking for volunteer English tutors to join the Fáilte Isteach English Conversation Club at Youghal Accommodation Centre, Redbarn.

The role involves supporting learners as they practise everyday English in an informal, friendly and welcoming environment.

📚 𝗡𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 – just good communication skills and a willingness to help others build their confidence in speaking English.

🤝 It’s a great 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, get involved in your community and help others develop important language skills.

🔎 Hidden Heritage: Discoveries from the Celtic Interconnector Project will offer a unique insight into what was uncovered during the project and the stories these discoveries tell about the area's past.

The webinar will feature project archaeologists Dan Noonan of Dan Noonan & Associates and Michael Walsh of Coracle Archaeology, who will share their findings and experiences from the archaeological work.

In partnership with Cork Chamber of Commerce we deliver the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲, supporting people living with a disability, chronic illness or mental health condition to take their next step — whether that’s employment, self-employment, education, training or personal development.

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗸 helps participants build skills, confidence and direction through:

💡 Business planning support
💼 Support with accessing work placement

📢 The deadline has been extended!

Community groups now have until Tuesday, 1st September at 12pm to submit an Expression of Interest for the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) 2026–2027.

The scheme supports the development and enhancement of outdoor recreation facilities in rural areas, including walking trails, cycleways, blueways, amenities at rivers, lakes and beaches, natural play areas, and upgrades to existing outdoor recreation facilities.

💶 Funding is available under:
📍 Measure 1 – Small-scale projects (up to €40,000)
📍 Measure 2 – Medium-scale projects (up to €200,000)
📍 Project Development Measure – Funding to help develop future outdoor recreation projects

Minister Martin Heydon has launched 𝗔𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗦 𝟭𝟭, a free development programme designed to support early-stage female entrepreneurs living in rural Ireland. It's a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills, confidence and connections needed to grow your business.

Over the past decade, ACORNS has supported more than 550 women through mentoring by experienced entrepreneurs, peer support, networking opportunities and practical business development workshops. This year, up to 50 participants will be selected to take part.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Event ‘Together at Fair Green’ Returns to Midleton this August!

Following the success of last year's event, which attracted almost 2,000 attendees, Cork County Council and HSE South West are delighted to announce the return of Together at Fair Green, a free community mental health and wellbeing event run in collaberation with Connecting for Life, Midleton & Area Chamber, Midleton Family Resource Centre and SECAD Partnership CLG - SECAD.

The day will feature live entertainment and family-friendly activities, and more than 30 local organisations providing information, advice and supports relating to mental health and wellbeing. The aim is to create an open and welcoming environment where people can connect with one another, learn about available supports, and celebrate the strength of the local community.
