Yellow Belly Farm
Certified organic market garden, Midleton, East Cork. Healthy soil, real food, no shortcuts. Veg boxes launching 2026.
I'm Conor and I'm building a small-scale farm in Midleton, East Cork with a goal to provide an abundance of fresh, local and organically grown fruit and vegetables.
Harvest day has become a race against the clock. Wholesale orders need to be in town by mid afternoon, then it’s straight into our first box collection at 5:30pm, followed by deliveries around East Cork. No pressure, but so much pressure!
This is what it takes to get the freshest organic produce to our customers, and it’s completely worth it. Would’ve been 14 times faster without the camera, but honestly, a semi-enjoyable day despite the exhaustion that followed.
🌞 We’ve all had a love/hate relationship with July. But let’s be honest, it’s been mostly love, fans, sweat, thirst and sleepless nights. This is a tribute to the hottest month in living history, a month that made us all take a hard look at ourselves and our energy efficient homes that are severely deficient in AC infrastructure
🎵 I dug out an old original composition for this one. I can’t even remember recording it but it was a nice find, and this is finally its moment
Well into harvest season now and the market garden is thriving 🌱
Tunnel plants are starting to fruit, the Belly Box is up and running (still taking orders), and we’re looking after our local restaurants and cafes too.
Last week was our biggest sales week on the farm ever. Feels like we’re building something the community actually wants, and the feedback has been brilliant.
Last week’s box: spring onion, kale, turnip, swede, radish, beetroot, mangetout, salad and a bunch of herbs.
Next week we’re adding potatoes and freshly pulled shallots (just use the stalks like spring onion).
Want a box? Head to yellowbellyfarm.com or the link in bio.
We had a great volunteer morning with recently, what an enthusiastic and capable bunch - who are clearly in the wrong career! We got so much done - turning compost, earthing spuds, weeding the market garden, edging the grass and mulching the woodland and orchard! Not only did they never complain, I think they actually enjoyed it!
Time just ceases to exist…
💯
What a week at Yellow Belly Farm 🌱
The plant sale was everything, buzzing, joyful, and a real reminder of why we do this. A huge thank you to our incredible growing team James and Mags, with a special mention to Mags who grew every single one of those healthy, strong organic plants from seed, an absolute trojan effort. Thank you to our brilliant teenage helpers Hannah, Lily and Robyn, and to Elena for keeping everything running smoothly and everyone fed and watered on the day. Couldn’t do any of this without you all.
Speaking of Elena, she’ll be hosting yoga and pilates classes starting next Saturday! Head to yellowbellyfarm.com to book your spot 🧘♀️
Now we’re turning our attention to the market garden and a season that’s already full of promise. The tunnel is filling up with tomatoes, cucumbers, chillis, aubergine, and plenty of basil keeping them all company. Out in the garden we’re sowing, transplanting, managing the watering through this hot spell, and staying on top of the weeds. There’s never a dull moment, but honestly we wouldn’t have it any other way.
This season we’ll be harvesting straight into the veg boxes and down to our friends at Cush and Grumpy Bakers. Two box sizes available weekly:
🥦 Belly Box, 6-8 items, serves 2-3 people, €22
🥬 Big Belly Box, 6-8 items, serves 4+ people, €28
Boxes can be collected from the farm, from Cush and Grumpy Bakers in Midleton town, or we can arrange local delivery. We’re expecting to open orders online mid June so keep an eye out!
All grown here on the farm, with love, attention and a healthy dose of enthusiasm.
Here’s to an abundant season from the land 🌿 Follow along and support the farm where you can, it means the world to us.
