MGLC is part of Music Generation - Ireland's National Music Education Programme, initiated by Music Network and funded by U2 and The Ireland Funds. The programme is of unprecedented scale in Limerick, linking partners across the city and working in all areas, with all ages.

Limerick Voices is BACK! Starting back this Saturday morning at the Music Generation Creative Centre on Cecil St and every Saturday during the school term.

If you're a teenager who wants to make original music just drop in to us any Saturday and we'll do our best to facilitate your musical wishes! We have professional musicians on site to assist you in any way or you can just do your own thing.

There are two sessions, 10-12, 12-2pm, and it's FREE to attend! DM for further info or contact us via email or Facebook.

Thanks to all the teen acts who performed to a packed Kasbah at our end of year Saturday Sessions gig yesterday! A high quality gig with so many talented performers, performing original music in a variety of genres! We are already looking forward to the next one!

Our end of year Limerick Voices showcase is just around the corner!

If you pass by the Creative Centre on a Saturday morning you're sure to hear a glorious noise pulsing from our building as dozens of teenagers create their art throughout our building! It's now time for them to emerge from the cocoon and to try this out in public!

9 acts, some longstanding participants & some more recent attendees, including hard metal, classic rock, gentle folk, energetic pop, leftfield rap & electronic beats! This current crop of Limerick Voices talent is an inspiring & diversive mix of culture & experience.

All ages are welcome and admission is free! Doors at 12.15pm, music starts 12.30pm sharp! Show will finish approximately 2.30pm. Come through!

We have two MGLC related events tomorrow for in Limerick City.

First up we have some live performances from our teens at Limerick City Library from 5 to 6pm

From 6 - 8pm present the premier of "12 scissors''- A short murder mystery film made by LYT. The movie features a soundtrack created by five of our MGLC teens! Screening will take place at Limerick Youth Theatre's base on O Connell Street (next to the Belltable).

Both all ages events!

This Saturday 13th September! It's the new term of our flagship programme LIMERICK VOICES, a weekly space for teenage music-makers to create their own original music under the supervision of professional musicians.

Participation is free. Just arrive at the start of either session (10am or 12pm midday) and sign up.

Music Generation Creative Centre is situated on Cecil St, beside the old Theatre Royal, just down from the Social Welfare Office.
