AcroYoga Limerick

Enrolment is open for our next 6 week block of AcroYoga classes . The course starts Thursday 20th October 6pm to 7.30pm. There are just a few places left so if you want to join make sure to sign up ASAP. You can book on my website (link in my bio) Suitable for beginners.

When I teach people inversions I always address the mental, psychological and emotional challenges as well as the physical ones. Often getting upside down is so completely alien that people don't know where they are in space and can have some strong reactions. People often feel completely disconnected from their bodies and simple instructions like straighten your arms just do not compute. Survival instinct kicks in too and many become terrified of hurting themselves. These are the greatest obstacles for most people and they need to be given consideration and patience. We can build strength and teach technique but people also need to overcome the barriers of their hearts and minds. And I respect that because I have gone through it and continue to go through it. I'm not an athlete. I was drawn to yoga for its psychological benefits and its philosophical quality. But I have learnt that these physical challenges are the key to understanding so much about ourselves and the human condition.
