Some more 'races from the faces' in Bilboa last night 😀

Well done to all our runners who put in fine performances in Bilboa last night 👏🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️

In the Women's race Sinead McDermott was 3rd overall in the 10K in a time of 41:36, with Liz Wilmot 5th in 45:03. Louise Matthews was 6th in 45:17 and first O50 female 👏💥Other times included Karen Raine 47:51, Claire Madigan 54:30, Fionnuala Keogh 51:19 and Geraldine Ryan 54:12.

In the Men 'section' Niall Harris 6th in a superb time of 39:48 and 2nd over 40 male with Declan Kennedy 11th 40:13. Damien Wilmot was 15th in 41:11. Other times included Cian Aherne 41:44, Lar Cleary 45:17, Mike Griffin 45:50, Joe Chawke 44:59 and 1st O60 male, Brendan McMahon 47:41, Mike Clarke 49:14, John Shier 49:15 Abe Henderson 51:50.

The hills of Balboa and Cappamore are challenging but there was a lovely downhill finish, the weather was kind and there was plenty of 'sustenance' ☕️ afterwards.

Elsewhere in the 'Faithful County' 🟩Marcella McGrath was again amongst the prizes in the latest event in the Run Offaly series 5K. Her time of 21:12 was enough for 12th overall and of course 2nd O50 female. Well done Mareclla 👏🎉🙂

Well done to Ruadhàn Crowley who only went and won a Munster Silver medal at the weekend 👏🎉🏃🏻‍♂️

He took 2nd place in the Men’s U20 1500m in Cork in a superb time of 4:25.94 secs👏 💥

Dooneen is proud of all our athletes who gave their best at MTU in the Rebel County last Saturday and Sunday 🏃‍♂️👏

He may be on the other side of the World but Andrew McMahon remains part of the 'Dooneen family' and yesterday he ran the Brisbane Half Marathon in a superb time of 1:23:39 👏🎉

Alan McCutcheon set pb of 40 seconds as clocked 15:30 in the Irish Milers 5000m in the Irishtown stadium in Ringsend yesterday 👏

South in Cork, at the Munster T&F Championships, on a good weekend for Limerick 😊🟩 Niamh Hynes took Silver in the U20 Women's 400m hurdles in a time of 1:09:58 👏

In the Masters there was a treble for club Vice-chair and coach John Sheehan who took Gold in the O65 Men's Javelin, Discus and Hammer- setting a new championship record in the latter🥇 .

Fellow coach Olga Nedvede did 'the double' taking Gold in both in F40 Shot Put and Weight for Distance while Shane O'Sullivan won Gold in the 040 800m in a time of 2:11:44, he was actually fastest overall in the event, well done Shane and all 🎉 👏

Well done to all at Parkrun today. J.P. Lawlor was 1st at UL in a blistering time of 18 minutes 8 seconds, 4th Niall Harris 19:49. Liz Wilmot was 3rd woman in a time of 22:45, also Claire Madigan 25:49 on her 50th Parkrun 👏, Brendan McMahon 26:13, Alison Flynn 29:03 (-thanks for the photo Alision)Eileen Reeves 33:08, Marion O'Halloran 37:03 on her 334th run!, Karen Raine 23:16.

At Mungret Declan Kennedy 23:11 and Anthony Harty 24:19.

Niall Bennis ran the notoriously tough Knocknacree Parkrun in a good time of 25:21. 👏

Cian Ahern won the Portumna 50K Ultra in a time of 3:29:45🏆

Meanwhile in the Rebel County Kieran O’Brien was our best finisher with an impressive time of 2:51:04 in the Cork City Marathon with club mates Declan Kennedy (3:12:23) and Nigel Sheehan (3:14:05) not far behind.👏

In the Half Brian Aherne was home in 1:27:14 with David Rohan in 1:55:32. 👏👏

'Dooneen on Tour' in the Banner County, congratulations to Maria Maher, who 'podiumed' as 3rd Woman in the Ennis 10K in a time of 44:09 👏🏃‍♀️💥also Geraldine Ryan (57:10)

In the Ennis Half Marathon Liz Wilmot was 7th Woman in an excellent time of 1:39:09- always nice to break 1:40 Liz ! Mike Clarke clocked 1:50:18 while Willie Gorman set a new pb (his second in 2 weeks) of 1:52. Steve Aherne was the 1:50 pacer👏💥🎉

Well done all 👏

Louise Mathews returned to her native Waterford where she was 1st over 50 Female and 8th overall in an excellent time of 36:52 in the undulating Anne Valley 5 mile 💥🎉🙂 Well done Louise👏.

Well done also to our Parkrunners at the various locations and especially 'UL' where Alison Flynn did a great job as 'Run Director. '🙂, also John Shier in Wi******er and Marion O'Halloran in Castlehaven.
