What a very enjoyable fun day at Classic Cars and Coffee Limerick this morning in Arthur's Quay multi storey car park. When leaving after 1 o clock a guy leaned over to me and said that was one very informative, friendly chat.
The winner of the AES Car Parts voucher was a gorgeous Ford Mustang Dark horse edition one of one in Ireland. Lads also enjoyed chatting to the Limerick Sports Partnership team led by Rachel Macauley on what activities are available for them to join in Men's Health week in Limerick.

Guinness World Record Holder and Cork Speed Legends Set for Return of Historic Halfway Drag Race on the 14th June 2026

The sound of motorcycles will once again echo through the roads at Halfway as the West Cork Motorcycle Club. Halfway Drag Race is much more than a day of racing. It is a celebration of Cork's rich motorcycle heritage, the people who have helped shape it, and the community that continues to keep the sport alive.

Adding to the excitement, Guinness World Record holder Ted Brady will compete at the event and will bring with him the legendary turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa that carried him to the world record for the fastest motorcycle wheelie over one kilometre at 217.85 mph (350.595 km/h).

Founded in 1997, the West Cork Motorcycle Club has become one of Ireland's most active motorcycle clubs, organising drag races, hill climbs, vintage runs, charity events and social gatherings that bring together riders and enthusiasts from across the country.

Connor McCarthy, race committee, of the West Cork Motorcycle Club, said:

"This event represents everything that is good about motorcycle clubs and grassroots motorsport. It has been built through an enormous volunteer effort by club members, local supporters, riders and families who are passionate about keeping this tradition alive.

"The Halfway Drag Race has a unique place in Cork motorcycle culture and we're delighted to be bringing it back on 14 June.

We want people to come along, enjoy the atmosphere, meet the community behind the event and experience a fantastic day of motorsport in a safe and welcoming environment."

Cork speed legend Mel Nolan welcomed the return of the event:

"I'm looking forward to competing on the day and bringing the Guinness World Record Hayabusa along as part of the event. Hopefully it gives people something special to see while supporting.

The West Cork Motorcycle Club Drag Race takes place at the Halfway, Ballinhassig, on Sunday, 14 June 2026.

What a great day Marie & I had at the Nenagh Classic Car Club, Lough Derg 100 car run today. We met lots of olde friends & made new ones while having a great day chatting about Cars & Coffee Limerick. I got to see another Fisker Karma and many other cool cars.

We had great BBQ food at The Green Bar Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary.
The Mitsubishi FTO GPx did not miss a beat on the run to Carey's Glass, then to Green Bar, Borrisokane & back to Adare.🤞🤞

Overall 10/10 to all the Nenagh Classic Cars club members, for a great day we had, talking about great cars. 👏👏

Cheers Ray Gavin
