Economic growth is often measured by investment, jobs and business performance. But the long-term success of any region rests on something far broader.
Strong public services, accessible healthcare and a robust education system create the conditions that allow businesses and communities to thrive. Without that foundation, sustainable growth simply isn't possible.
In our latest blog, we explore how three vital sectors work together to support growth across Limerick, Clare and Tipperary:
- Health
- Education
- Public administration
We also look at why collaboration between these sectors will be critical to the Mid-West's future success.
For business leaders, understanding these connections offers valuable insight into the opportunities, challenges and priorities shaping the region in the years ahead.

The Mid-West has become one of Europe's most significant centres for advanced manufacturing, engineering and industrial innovation.
The numbers speak for themselves.
Today, 153 multinational companies operate across the region, employing more than 27,000 people. Together, they've built a thriving ecosystem spanning MedTech, life sciences, aerospace, semiconductors, precision engineering and emerging technologies.
But the opportunity extends far beyond multinational investment.
From local supply chain partnerships and specialist engineering services to fast-growing sectors like offshore wind, green hydrogen and advanced therapeutics, the region keeps opening new doors for indigenous businesses to grow, innovate and compete globally.
Our latest blog takes a closer look at what's driving this momentum:
* The data behind the region's growth
* The infrastructure supporting industry
* The talent pipeline fuelling innovation
* The networks connecting it all
Together, these strengths are positioning the Midwest as one of Ireland's leading manufacturing hubs.
