π§ N69 Court Cross to Bolands Cross Update π§
Tenders for the Pavement Improvement Scheme were opened on 19 June 2026, marking the next stage towards delivery of this important project.
The tender process will now be completed and, once a contractor is appointed, a start date for works will be confirmed.
I remain committed to seeing this project delivered and will continue to keep the community updated as it progresses.

Some places are more than just places to eat, The Golden Grill was one of them. So sad to hear it is closing!
For me, it was comfort food on long days, familiar faces behind the counter, and chips wrapped up with care like they always meant something more than just a takeaway. It was never fancy, never trying to be anything other than itself and thatβs exactly why it meant so much.
Sixty years is an incredible run, and itβs hard to imagine Limerick without it. So many memories live in those four walls, quick stops, late nights, conversations that lingered longer than the food.
Thank you to Diana and the whole team for the warmth, the consistency, and the years of looking after a community. You gave us more than meals , you gave us moments weβll hold onto.

π€ Great to see plans progressing for a new floating pontoon and improved river access at Ferrybridge on the River Maigue. π
I was happy to support this project alongside fellow councillors with β¬25,000 in funding in 2023 to help make it happen.
The planning application, submitted by Ferrybridge Community Development CLG, includes:
β
A floating pontoon with tidal access
β
A new gangway and landing platform
β
Improved wheelchair-accessible access
β
Enhanced safety features and secure entry
This project will improve access to the river, support recreation and tourism, and further enhance Ferrybridge as a destination for locals and visitors alike.
Congratulations to Ferrybridge Community Development CLG and everyone involved in bringing this project forward. I look forward to seeing it progress through the planning process.

π A Community Rallying Around Dylan π
I wanted to share this incredible initiative by the students of St. Paul's NS, who are supporting their classmate Dylan following his cancer diagnosis.
Dylan's classmates have organised a fundraising raffle in aid of Aoibheann's Pink Tie, a charity that provides vital practical, emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families throughout treatment.
What makes this so special is that these young students wanted to do something meaningfulβnot only for their friend Dylan, but for other children and families facing the challenges of childhood cancer. Their kindness, compassion and determination are truly inspiring.
With the support of local businesses and the wider community, this raffle is already making a real difference. If you're in a position to do so, please consider supporting the fundraiser and helping these amazing children reach their goal. Link here: https://www.idonate.ie/raffle/StPaulsNSCares
Most importantly, let's all send Dylan our love, strength, prayers and positive energy as he takes on this challenge. We're all behind you, Dylan. π

Today marks the end of an era as Joe Nash signs off from Limerick Today.
Joe has been a voice of Limerick for years, keeping people informed, connected and entertained. During COVID, when many felt isolated, he was a trusted companion in homes and kitchens across the city and county.
As a public representative, I always appreciated Joe's fairness. He never pulled his punches and asked the tough questions, but he always did so with professionalism, balance and journalistic integrity.
His passion for Limerick, his knowledge, his laugh and his voice will be greatly missed on the airwaves.
Thank you, Joe, for your outstanding service to Limerick. Wishing you every success in the next chapter. πποΈ

There have been serious and ongoing failures in grass cutting and grounds maintenance across our communities. Residents have repeatedly raised concerns with me, and I have documented every case brought to my attention.
I am informed that a significant factor in this situation is the delay by Limerick City and County Council in filling a key position responsible for overseeing these services, among other operational issues.
This is simply not good enough. Public spaces, estates, footpaths and amenities must be maintained to an acceptable standard, and residents should not have to continually chase basic services.
I will be pressing the Council for clear answers, immediate action, and a timeline for addressing the backlog. Our communities deserve better, and I will continue to raise every reported case until this issue is resolved.
If there are areas in your locality that still require attention, please send me the details. I will continue to ensure every case is recorded and pursued.
