Brilliant days boxing yesterday in Mitchelsown.
We had two boxers on and both performed out of their skins which happily led to two great wins.
Callum Lysaght made his international debut which is always a big step up but he took to it superbly boxing to instruction and remained composed throughout picking his shots and being roared on by a huge crowd that nearly took the roof off the venue he was awarded a more than deserved 4-1 devision over his experienced Dutch opponent max van diessen.
Leon Moynihan was involved in the best of the undercard bouts versus the talented Bobby Ball from Kerry.
Three pulsating rounds from both lads led to a not surprising 3 2 split decision and after being on the wrong side of more than his equal amount of these there was delight when the decision fell the way of our guy yesterday.
Club president Derek Duhig also made his international debut as a ref and did a great job as always.
There are more downs than ups in our sport but yesterday was a good day.

Thanks to StPaulsboxingclub Nenagh for having four of our boxers on the Bridget Orr memorial show always a great night.
Kyle boxed a familiar foe from the host club and after a great bout didnt get the decision but the bout won the fight of the night award.
Dylan have a great account of himself in his first bout on the road and was unlucky to lose a close split decision.
Oliver Plachta won a good fight against a bigger opponent with his shot selection, fast feet and excellent defense being the diffrence across the three rounds.
Callum Lysaght closed the show for us against a big hitting opponent from Nenagh. Callum continued his good run of form using good combinations and slick head movement on way to running out a deserved points winner.
Well done to boxers and coaches tonight.
