Limerick Suicide Watch

June 5th marks the First Friday of the month.

It being the it means that Karl Daly & the Namara Ireland crew will be out for an early morning run/walk/stroll along the lovely banks of the River Shannon on the . Thanks again to St. Michael's Rowing Club (SMRC) for hosting & to all those who show up to give the legs an early morning stretch.

What is WRAP WRAP ( Wellness Recovery Action Planning) is an evidence based wellness programme suitable for those that wish to enhance their mental health

Another training session for new & existing volunteers was held recently.

Familiarization of the Hoverstar Havospark remote control lifebuoy & use of throw bags was on the agenda. Fortunately this was a timely session as we needed to deploy the remote controlled lifebuoy a few nights after this session and the refresh helped the patrol team on the night.

Thank you to Dave & DJ our training officers for facilitating this session.

When we plan these sessions we liaise with other emergency response groups who operate along the river to ensure we don’t impede any live or training operations. Additionally we alert Henry St. Gardai & the Irish Coast Guard team in Valentia so they are aware that we are active on the river.
