"God calls those things which be not as though they were." Romans 4:17 (b)

When was the last time you have done it? speaking words of faith and believing it comes to pass -- must be a believers lifestyle. For the scripture declares the just shall live by faith.

*Jesus speaks to the Fig Tree*

“Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard it.” (Mark 11:12-14, NKJV)

*The Lesson from the Withered Fig Tree*

“Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away." So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:20-24, NKJV)

“So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20, NKJV)

Note that last part and nothing will be impossible for you.

Check out an example below; Joshua speaking to the sun is not an anomaly — it is a man functioning in his created dominion capacity (Genesis 1:28), commanding creation as an image bearer of God.

“Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon." So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.” (Joshua 10:12-14, NKJV)

For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. (1 Cor 5:7)

“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26:26-28, BSB)

If there is any day you should be taking communion it is TODAY. Do it in His remembrance wherever you are with friends and/or family.

The Name of Jesus

Usage of the name of Jesus is not a matter of imprecation or a formula or a method of incantation. 'IN THE NAME' denotes positioned IN CHRIST, a union with Christ i.e., being baptised into the name. We take on that name, like a wife takes on the name of their husband post marriage.

I present to you two instances where the name of Jesus was not used, but the commands by apostles yielded results because they were 'IN THE NAME'.

Resurrection of Tabitha:
“Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive. And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord. And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.” (Acts 9:36-43, KJV)

Impotent mans received strength:
“And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.” (Acts 14:8-11, KJV)

The Proof Of Divine Healing Week 2B - The Promise Vs Old Covenant Vs New Testament 28/01/2025

This session has a good discussion on The difference between The Promise given to Abraham, The Covenant (the law) given via Moses and The Testament given via Jesus. You can watch it here and also find keys summary down below:

The essential difference between _"covenant"_ and _"testament"_ is that:

A Covenant is based upon the formula " _If you will, I will_ " and can be broken. Benefits from the Covenant depend on your *performance and adherence to the terms of the Covenant* .

A Testament is based upon the _death of the Testator_ and is a _gift_ to his Children and Heirs. The *Testament cannot be broken* , since someone's death has already _sealed it._ It is not dependent on the heir's performance, but the *Testators achievements* .

You cannot add or delete a blessing from the Testament. It _always belongs to the heirs_ of the Testament. It is not by work's but by relationship.

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it — we're called children of God! That's who we really are. (1 John 3:1 AMP)

We are not heirs of a covenant, which must be fulfilled; but heirs of the testament, which has been sealed with the fulfillment of Christ!

Jesus did not die to leave us a covenant which must be fulfilled but he left us His last will & testament, which gifts us all that He ever accomplished through His incarnation, death, resurrection and ascension!!!

The functional difference between a "Covenant" and "Testament" is such as the difference between a "harvest" and "inheritance".

You must SEED for your harvest, whereas you must only RECEIVE your inheritance. You cannot seed, work or labor for your inheritance.

To obtain your harvest you must DO something. To receive an inheritance, you must BE someone's child.

One is based on works - your ability to do something. The other is based on the Testator's finished work.

The Old Covenant had an accuser condemning us with the law, the New Testament has a Mediator justifying us with His blood.

*Bottom line* : You cannot believe in a Covenant and truly believe in the Grace of God, which is the Testament of Jesus Christ. The former relies on merited or earned wages, another on unmerited gift.

The Ark of the Testimony containing the law, which is the covenant, testified AGAINST the people but the Testament Jesus left us, testifies FOR the people.

One brings fear, other faith.
One brings death, other life.
One condemns, other justifies.
One brings guilt, other innocence.
