We’re starting the year with some great news!!

Monarú is proud to be one of 17 partners working together as part of FactoryXChange, a national consortium that has secured €5.7 million in funding to support Irish manufacturers over the next three years.

Backed by funding from the European Commission and , this programme is about helping manufacturers respond to real pressures, such as rising costs, digital transformation, sustainability, and future skills, with practical, highly subsidised support.

As a partner, our role is to bring our Design expertise directly to businesses on the ground, helping them adopt new technologies, strengthen operations, and future-proof jobs in a way that’s human-centred and sustainable.

Huge credit to for leading the consortium and securing this funding, and to all partner organisations involved.

Guinness Toucans
We have had lots of fun during the past few years creating numerous types of Guinness Toucans. Keep an eye out for a Toucan near you!!

The shapes are produces through a combination of CNC Routing and 3D printing technologies. Each colour is then carefully applied.

Limerick Mayor's Office - Reception
We designed and produced much of the fitted furniture in the Mayors office. This reception area was inspired by the "Limerick - Atlantic Edge - European Embrace" Logo. It is made from Birch plywood with some Matt HPL block colour finishes.

The Children's Grief Centre, Limerick

We produced and fitted a variety of children’s playrooms, meeting rooms and loose casual furniture. Playrooms are predominantly Birch plywood with a natural wax oil finish. Formica and soft padding are used for pops of playful colour.

FactoryXChange Mobile Design Islands

In collaboration with all the design pillars at the Irish Manufacturing Research, we developed the Design Island to enhance their engagement with industrial partners. The islands have built in wifi, battery power, wireless charging, pop up touch screens and 4K displays. The islands are used in house at IMR but also travel to exhibitions and trade fairs.

The project is made from a combination of Oak Faced Birch Plywood and Fenix Faced Birch Plywood.

BIG SKYGAZER
Developed in collaboration with Mayo based artist Cathal Mc Carthy, this thirteen meter long sculptural Bench was designed for skygazing and forest bathing in Mote Park, Co. Roscommon.

Crafted from sustainably sourced Irish Douglas Fir timber, the sculpture represents a fusion of artistic creativity and ecological responsibility. Its parametric design, realised through the use of CNC routing technologies, blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, inviting the public to immerse themselves in Mote Park’s serene landscape.

Birch Plywood Credenza.
Solid untreated copper door and handle plates. Design shape and size inspired by the credenzas of the 1950’s and 1960’s and developed to fulfil the clients requirements in our contemporary plywood furniture style.

Reception Desk for IMR - Irish Manufacturing Research Centre.


Created for a large foyer area, it is used day to day by the reception team and as a ticket counter during special events. The Desk incorporates all the required tech including wireless charging.

It is made from Fenix faced Birch plywood and Oak Faced Birch Plywood.

Bespoke dining nook with custom solid oak dining table and built-in drinks bar.

Materials: Formica faced Birch Plywood doors, Black Valchromat Bench, Oak faced Birch plywood detailing.

A 13m long Sculptural Bench that we produced in collaboration with Artist Cathal Mc Carthy has be officially opened in Mote Park, Co Roscommon:

Mote Park

Aniar, Michelin Starred Restaurant Galway, completed earlier this year.

We produced all the cabinetry for the bar and the dining hall. Doors are stained and lacquered oak faced birch plywood. Doors have embedded magnets and are hung with 180 degree soss hinges allowing the doors to stay open displaying artefacts inside.
