Really important message sent to us by Aimee last night: “Mum choked on a Strawberry 🍓 Fortunately she’s okay because I was able to quickly give her back slaps and abdominal thrusts. WMAS crew came out and made sure she was okay, and gave her the all clear. This should be a reminder to all, PLEASE DO A FIRST AID COURSE!” Well done Aimee👍👏
It may be of interest to know that national guidance says that we would take patient's who have had absominal thrusts performed on them to hospital but clearly, as in all cases, circumstances can be individual and it is up to the patient as to whether they want to follow the advice.
