STARTING YOUNG!!!

Following yesterday's monthly meeting of Enniscorthy Municipal District, I was delighted to see a group of pupils from St Senan's Primary School Student Council visit the Council chamber to learn a bit about local democracy. And who knows, there could be a couple of future Councillors among the enthusiastic group!

The pupils were warmly welcomed by Cathaoirleach Barbara-Anne Murphy Local Councillor who presented them with certificates and spoke to them about the important work of the Council.

The students also had the opportunity to try on the Chain of Office and share their ideas on improvements they would like to see in the town.

Claire Lawless, District Manager, kindly organised treat bags for all of the children capping off a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

GREAT TO SEE ONGOING IMPROVEMENTS AND EVENTS HAPPENING AT THE ORCHARD PEACE PARK IN ENNISCORTHY...

New interpretive signage has been installed at both entrances to The Orchard Peace Park, providing clear wayfinding, highlighting key features, and improving the visitor experience. The panels include a site map, trail information, and details on the UN Peace Memorial, Labyrinth, and viewing points, offering a more accessible and informative journey through the park.

Play Day Enniscorthy – Wednesday 15th July – Orchard Peace Park
Following the successful event last year, Enniscorthy Municipal District will host a Play Day in the Orchard Peace Park on Wednesday 15th July from 1:30pm – 3:30pm. Local artist and facilitator Anita Petry will curate the event with artists Jenny Ruddy and Elder Trindade providing creative art and play opportunities for children and young people. A fun afternoon of play and creativity is promised with tug of war, hopscotch, sack race, face painting, and many more activities. This year there will be the addition of a sensory space to allow for those with sensory issues to take some time out if needed.
