The menopause skin changes no one really tells you about… 🫶
It’s not just hot flushes and mood changes. Your skin can suddenly feel like it’s gone through a personality change too.
✨ Dryness & dehydration — THE ITCH!!!! skin may feel tighter, rougher and more sensitive than before.
✨ Loss of firmness — declining oestrogen can affect collagen and elastin, so skin can start to feel less plump and resilient.
✨ Fine lines appearing more noticeable — especially when skin is lacking moisture.
✨ Sensitivity & irritation — products you’ve used for years may suddenly feel too harsh.
✨ Dullness — skin can lose some of its natural glow and look more tired.
✨ Breakouts — yes, even if your teenage years are very behind you! Hormonal fluctuations can trigger spots and congestion.
✨ Changes in pigmentation — hormonal shifts and cumulative sun exposure can make uneven pigmentation more noticeable.
& most importantly we feel like a shadow of ourselves….so self care SHOULD be a priority.
So, what actually helps? 🤍
Think less is more and focus on supporting your skin barrier:
💧 A gentle cleanser
🧴 A nourishing moisturiser with barrier-supporting ingredients
☀️ Daily SPF 30–50 (every day!)
💦 Hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin
✨ Retinoids or retinol, introduced gradually if your skin tolerates them
🫧 Avoid over-exfoliating and stripping the skin
🌿 Prioritise sleep, hydration, nutrition and stress management too
The biggest shift? Stop fighting your skin and start supporting it.
Your skin isn’t “getting worse” — it’s changing. And with the right approach, it can still look healthy, radiant and beautifully you at every stage. 🤍
What’s the menopause skin change that surprised you the most?

☀️ Why does pigmentation appear… even if you’ve always looked after your skin?
Pigmentation isn’t just “sun damage.” It’s your skin’s natural defence mechanism.
When your skin is exposed to UV rays, heat, inflammation, hormones or even trauma (like spots or picking), specialised cells called melanocytes produce melanin—the pigment responsible for your skin colour—to help protect your skin.
The problem is that sometimes these cells become overactive, producing more pigment than your skin needs. Instead of fading evenly, the excess melanin remains in the skin, leaving behind dark patches or uneven skin tone.
Common causes of pigmentation include:
☀️ Sun exposure
🌡️ Heat
🤰 Hormonal changes (including pregnancy and menopause)
😣 Acne and inflammation
🧬 Genetics
⏳ Ageing
The good news? Not all pigmentation has to be permanent.
✨ BBL (BroadBand Light) uses specific wavelengths of light to target unwanted pigment in the skin. The excess melanin absorbs the light energy, breaks down, and is naturally cleared away by your body over time, helping restore a brighter, more even complexion.
✨ MOXI works differently. Rather than targeting pigment directly, it creates thousands of tiny treatment zones that stimulate your skin’s natural renewal process. As fresh, healthy skin cells replace older ones, pigmentation gradually improves while skin tone, texture and collagen production are enhanced.
Sometimes, the best results come from combining both treatments—using BBL to address existing pigmentation and MOXI to improve overall skin quality and help maintain a clearer, healthier complexion.
Remember: no pigmentation treatment is complete without daily SPF. If the cause of pigmentation isn’t controlled, it can always return.
Healthy skin isn’t about hiding pigmentation—it’s about understanding why it happens and treating it safely and effectively.

✨ Your Skin: More Than Just What You See ✨
Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it’s working for you every second of every day—even when you don’t realise it.
Here’s just a few of the amazing jobs your skin does:
🛡️ Protects you – Your skin acts as a barrier against bacteria, viruses, pollution and harmful environmental toxins.
💧 Keeps moisture in – A healthy skin barrier prevents excessive water loss, helping to keep your skin hydrated and functioning properly.
🌡️ Regulates your body temperature – Through sweating and changes in blood flow, your skin helps keep your body at the right temperature.
🤲 Allows you to feel – Tiny nerve endings help you sense touch, pressure, pain, heat and cold, protecting you from injury.
☀️ Produces Vitamin D – When exposed to sunlight, your skin helps your body produce Vitamin D, which is essential for healthy bones and your immune system.
🩹 Repairs itself – Every day, your skin is constantly renewing and healing itself, replacing old cells with new ones to keep your protective barrier strong.
Just like your heart or lungs, your skin deserves care and attention. Looking after your skin isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about supporting an organ that works tirelessly to protect you every single day.
Healthy skin is happy skin. 🤍
