Skerries Rowing Club were delighted to welcome
Deputy Rob O Donoghue and Cllr Mark Boland for Rush and Lusk, who came along to try out rowing on Monday afternoon. Club members Tara and Niamh brought them for a row around Skerries Harbour in perfect rowing conditions. (Before the storm!🌩⚡️⛈️)

They both took to it very well and enjoyed seeing Skerries from a different perspective. Who knows, maybe we'll convince them to take it up full time…..

Training this evening started out ideal, but would you believe we were interrupted by an honest to god storm?- Thunder and lightning and all!🌩⚡️⛈️ At least it looked pretty, with some dramatic skylines before, and a beautiful sunset after.

Still, back at it tomorrow to train up for Skerries Regatta on Saturday! We hope you're all getting excited😝💙💛

Skerries Rowing Club are now proud ambassadors for the RNLI! This is some important info for all rowers out there.

Remember, if you're struggling in the water:

1. Tilt your head back, submerging your ears.
2. Relax and try to control your breathing.
3. Move your hands and legs to help you stay afloat.
4. Your legs may sink but that's okay👍 Everyone floats differently.
5. Find your float by practicing at a supervised location.

IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 999 OR 112 FOR THE COAST GUARD.
