Last Wednesday, Hospice Alliance Northern Ireland launched With the end in mind at the Long Gallery, Stormont, a shared vision for equitable, high-quality and sustainable hospice and palliative care across Northern Ireland.

Bringing together Evora Hospice Care, Foyle Hospice, Marie Curie Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Hospice, including Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, the report highlights the vital role hospices play in supporting patients, families and loved ones, as well as the wider Health and Social Care system.

With demand for palliative care expected to grow, the vision focuses on three key pillars: equity, quality and sustainability, with priorities including access, care closer to home, workforce, sustainable funding, and partnership and innovation.

The shared ambition is simple: that everyone who could benefit from palliative care receives the right support, at the right time and in the right place.

Join us on Thursday, 5 November for this HSE Webinar which will provide an overview of the HSE National Adult Palliative Care Policy Implementation Plan, progress to date and next steps to support the implementation of the policy.
This webinar is targeted at all healthcare staff interested in the Implementation Plan which will shortly be available on the HSE website. The webinar will be hosted by the HSE’s partners, the All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care.

We were delighted to join Pavee Point today, for the launch of a new Palliative Care Leaflet for Travellers, which has been developed by the Primary Health Care for Travellers Project (PHCTP), in collaboration with AIIHPC. The resource will help to ensure that Travellers receive health supports with accessible and culturally appropriate information.

Music Therapy with Dr James Burns helps Reuben Fay, who attends CHI, Temple Street by supporting him and his Mum, Nikita who is Reuben's full time carer.
