Thanks to Brian, Joe, and Tony for coming into the studio to record some vocals last night. I admired their ability to exchange creative and constructive feedback on performances, but in such good humour and with the best intentions. I hope they'll be back!

Guts 'n' all. Something in there is stealing my +18v supply. Had to remove everything except the motherboard but think we found it 🤞 Thankful for the consummate professional help I receive. Learning a lot. Can't wait to get down to recording.

So, studio build update. It's been a while. I've been having a social media break but continued work on the studio, now affectionately called "The Shed".

We put the desk in! Exciting!

We built a ton of acoustic treatment! Less Exciting!

And we brought in the most important element in any studio - the couch. So that's the Grammy in the bag, I'd say.

Well, it's been a while, but I've had some time to get back to studio-building over Christmas. Concentrating on the control room for now, getting the acoustic treatment started. Part one is corner "bass-traps". We also took the console out and set it in place. First, the acoustic gods giveth, then they taketh away. Nothing like a big reflective piece of steel to undo all the hard work!

Really enjoying this show on tonight. Some great recordings revisited. First I've heard of Tom Munnelly, super stoked to hear more of his archive, which is apparently kept in UCD.

Finishing a few odd jobs at the studio today. Everything seemed like a chore, until I looked around and thought, heck, it's a bit of a mess. I brought in some old shelves, organised all the tools and materials, and gave the whole place a good seeing to with the yard brush. And whaddya know, work got easier!

As Leonard said, it's clichéd, but remains true. I can't wait to get to work on insulating and plasterboarding in the next few weeks.

Finalised the design for the tracking room door thresholds yesterday. Starting to build internal door frame today...
