Castletown House, located in Celbridge, County Kildare, was the first Irish Palladian house built to correct Classical proportions. It was designed by architect, Alessandro Galilei and commissioned by William Conolly, a Speaker of the Irish Parliament and one of the wealthiest people in Ireland at that time. The house is famous for its staircase with brass banisters and plaster decoration, done by the Lafranchini brothers. The long gallery is considered one of the most beautiful rooms in Ireland. Its walls were painted in the Pompeian style, and the ceiling was decorated with three vast Venetian chandeliers. With no doubt, one of the most original rooms is the Print Room, created by Lady Louisa Conolly in the 1768. She collected, cut out, and arranged individual prints, frames and decorations. The Print Room also includes the set of furniture of The Louis XVII.

Mellifont Abbey is located near Drogheda, in County Louth. It was the first Cistercian foundation in Ireland, established in 1142 by Saint Malachy of Armagh, as a daughter house of Clairvaux in France. The name Mellifont comes from the Latin "Font Mellis", which means "Fountain of honey". Not much left of the buildings from the heyday of the abbey, mostly just foundations. However, it gives the image of how impressive it was in the time of its glory.

Drumlane Abbey and Round Tower are nicely situated on the shore of Derrybrick Lough (not far from Killashandra), in County Cavan. The oldest building of Drumlane Abbey is a Round Tower with a round-headed doorway and windows, dating about the 12th century. The church probably dates from the 13th century but much of what survived until today is alterations from the 15th century. Some of the fine stonework from that period has been preserved to this day, including heads of abbots or bishops. The surrounding graveyard contains some noteworthy headstones and grave markers.
