✨ Delighted to see the delivery of 68 new homes at Blackhorse Place, made possible through government funding and delivered by Co‑operative Housing on behalf of Dublin City Council.
Wishing Miriam and all the residents every happiness, comfort and many great memories in their new homes. 🏡💛

✔️Breaking the cycle, not just punishing it.
👉Drug Treatment Courts offer evidence-based recovery, reduce reoffending, and save public money—by supporting people, not just sentencing them.
Dublin, let’s show up ❤️

OPW must work faster, smarter and more affordably.
Thanks to my colleague and Minister for coming to the Seanad to update the house that Government is committed to a health-led approach to drug misuse, with the Drug Treatment Court model under active review.
The final evaluation report has been received and is now being considered by the Minister for Justice to inform future investment and potential expansion.
I recently spoke on East Coast FM about the impact of the Drug Treatment Court — an approach that focuses on recovery, reduces reoffending, and gives people a real second chance.
🔊 Have a listen to how supportive, evidence-based justice can make a lasting difference.

Really delighted to contribute to Dublin City Council’s oral history project on the Dublin 7 Victorian Fruit & Veg Market.
The market played such a vital role in the life of our city for decades. It should never have been allowed to decline and has been empty and unused for far too long.
Thanks to Government funding, works are well underway to repair, restore and re-open the market.
As Fianna Fáil Spokesperson for Dublin it was a pleasure to host members of Dublin Chamber of Commerce in Leinster House.
Dublin is a place where business can thrive on a global stage.
Driven by a strong pro-business environment, it’s a city built for ambition, growth, and international success.
Success doesn’t happen by accident. It is achieved when hard working, inventive, enterprising and creative people are supported by pro-business legislators.
It is always valuable to share perspectives, strengthen connections, and discuss the issues that matter most to our business community.
Thanks to all who attended and to David Kelly, Mary Rose Burke, Stephen Browne .chamber for organising a successful gathering.
As Vice Chair of the Oireachtas Drugs Committee, I recently led a delegation to the Planet Youth Conference in Reykjavík — and one thing is clear: youth substance abuse is a shared global challenge.
But there is real hope.
The strongest communities are those that come together — parents, schools, services and local leaders — all working to protect young people.
In these places, prevention isn’t an add-on, it’s a form of child protection.
They use data to understand risk, strengthen supports and deliver solutions that work. They measure. Monitor. Review. Improve.
Communities that prioritise prevention don’t just reduce harm — they help young people grow into healthy, confident and successful adults.
If we want to protect our young people, support families and build sustainable communities in Ireland, we must prioritise prevention too.
At a recent drugs committee international experts made strong human rights based arguments for decriminalising drugs for drug users.
I challenged the arguments from the perspective of non drug users whose lives are negatively impacted by drug activity in their community.
You can watch the full debate back and let me know what you think.
Do you support the de-criminalisation of all drugs?
