A weekend well spent…🙏🏻☀️🌊💛💫

The past few weeks have reminded me just how important it is to protect my nervous system🙏🏻

When stress is high, life feels heavier. The house feels messier. My to-do list feels longer. Everything feels more overwhelming.

As a mum, I’ve learned that reducing overwhelm isn’t about being more productive.

It’s about creating simple systems that help me feel calmer and more regulated.

These are 4 things that help me:

1️⃣I limit my screen time

The more I scroll, the more mentally cluttered I feel. Less time on my phone = more presence, more clarity and less comparison.

2️⃣I delegate where I can

For me, that looks like getting help with cleaning the house. Could I do it myself? Yes. But freeing up that mental load allows me to spend my energy where it matters most.

3️⃣One load of washing + a 15-minute power blast

Instead of waiting until everything feels chaotic, I do a little every day. One load of washing and 15 minutes of decluttering helps keep both my home and my mind feeling lighter.

4️⃣I meditate every day

This has been the biggest game-changer for me. Even 10 minutes helps me slow down, regulate my nervous system and respond to life instead of reacting to it.

None of these things take hours.

They’re small habits that help me feel more like myself.

Because when mum feels regulated, everything else feels a little easier too🙏🏻

What’s one thing you do to reduce overwhelm?⤵️

I think a lot of mums mistake nervous system overload for being “off” 💛

They think:

💭 Why am I so irritable?
💭 Why am I so exhausted?
💭 Why don’t I feel like talking?
💭 Why do I feel disconnected?

But often it’s not because anything is wrong.

It’s because you’ve spent the entire day being needed.

Listening.
Responding.
Planning.
Problem-solving.
Thinking ahead.

Your brain hasn’t had a second to switch off.

That’s why I’m such a big believer that tiny moments of regulation throughout the day can make a huge difference.

✨ Three slow breaths while the kettle boils
✨ Sitting down to drink your coffee
✨ Five minutes of fresh air
✨ Pausing between tasks instead of rushing to the next thing

Small moments of calm add up.

Because a calmer nervous system often means more patience, more energy, and feeling more like yourself again 🙏🏻✨

One of the biggest mistakes I see after a C-section?

Doing too much, too soon.

And I completely understand why.

We’ve spent months feeling uncomfortable, we are desperate to feel like ourselves again, and there’s so much pressure to “bounce back” after having a baby.

But our body has just grown a human and undergone major surgery.

It needs time & recovery won’t be linear.

Some days we’ll feel amazing.

Other days we’ll feel like we’ve taken a few steps backwards.

That’s normal.

Walking is a fantastic place to start, but more isn’t always better.

A slow, gradual progression will always beat doing too much and setting ourselves back.

Be patient with yourself, mama🙏

You’re not behind.

You’re recovering💛

💾Save this for your postpartum journey or send it to a mum who needs this reminder today.
