It is also advised that you do not defer your dental appointment as your oral health is vital to your overall well-being.

We have all the measures in place to make sure both staff and patients remain safe at all times.

Dear Patients ,
Infection control has always been the top priority at IFSC Dental Care and our processes ensure that when you receive treatment at
our office it is both safe and comfortable.
We follow the guidance and advice of the HSE and its HPSC (Health Protection Surveillance Centre), as well as the Irish Dental
Council and the Irish Dental Association.
As you may be aware, we closed our surgery on the 16th March to help shut down the spread of the Covid-19 virus as early as
possible.
We are now preparing to re-open the practice from Tuesday 2nd June in line with the guidance of the Department of Health.
We will have to introduce some changes to the way in which the practice is run from now on, to adapt to the “new normal” and to
adhere to the health guidelines being introduced as a result of Covid-19, for the protection of patients and staff.
Below are some of the changes that we and all other practices will be introducing, these changes will mean longer gaps between
appointments on the day and fewer patients being seen on a particular day.
It will also mean we will need more advanced planning of appointments and less freedom to change appointments at short notice or
to fail to attend for appointments.

• We will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions.
• You will be asked those same questions again when you arrive at the surgery.
• We may take your temperature when you arrive at the surgery.
• We will have hand sanitizer that you will be asked to use when you arrive at the surgery and again when you are leaving
after treatment.
• Our waiting area will look a bit bare, as we will remove magazines and plants and anything that is difficult to clean and
disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients, this may result in you being offered less
options in scheduling your appointment.
• We will have to allow for longer time between each patient to help keep patient numbers in the waiting room down and
because there will be increased cleaning of surgeries between patients.
• We will be introducing air purifier systems into the surgery to ensure any harmful airborne bacteria or viruses are destroyed.
