Today we celebrate the 85th birthday of , one of the true legends of popular music.
Paul Anka burst onto the music scene as a teenager with the classic hit "Diana," and never looked back. Over the decades, he became much more than a singer—he's an accomplished songwriter whose work has been recorded by countless artists. He wrote the English lyrics for "My Way," forever associated with Frank Sinatra , and also penned the unforgettable "She's a Lady," made famous by Tom Jones . He even wrote the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, proving just how versatile his talent has been.
I've always admired entertainers with careers that span generations, and Paul Anka is one of those rare performers who has remained relevant for nearly seven decades. His smooth voice, timeless songwriting, and ability to adapt to changing musical styles have earned him a well-deserved place in music history.
Happy 85th Birthday, Paul Anka! Thank you for the songs, the memories, and an incredible career that continues to inspire music lovers around the world.

Who else grew up listening to Dr Demento?
I'm honored to once again serve as the emcee for the 51st Annual Eagle Creek Folk Festival in Indianapolis! Reaching 51 years is an incredible milestone and a testament to the enduring power of folk music and the community that keeps it alive.
As part of this year's festival, I've been sitting down with some of the talented performers and organizers for a series of conversations. In this 10-minute interview, I had the pleasure of talking with Andrea Fivush, an outstanding musician who, among many other instruments, plays the beautiful autoharp.
We discuss the fascinating history and versatility of the autoharp, what makes the Eagle Creek Folk Festival so special, and the important work of the Central Indiana Mountain Dulcimer and Folk Music Society in preserving and promoting traditional music.
Whether you're a longtime fan of folk music, play the mountain dulcimer or autoharp, or simply enjoy discovering talented musicians, I think you'll enjoy this conversation.
🎶 Watch the interview, learn something new, and celebrate one of Indiana's longest-running folk music traditions!
