🇮🇪♻️ Proud moment for Irish bioeconomy!
After winning first prize in the Irish National Competition, Carbon Circle has been selected to represent Ireland at the European finals of the Bio-based Innovation Student Challenge Europe (BISC-E)!
The Irish finals were coordinated by Munster Technological University , BiOrbic Research Ireland Centre for Bioeconomy and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
We had the pleasure of interviewing the brains behind this outstanding project. We hope you enjoy and let’s show them some support down in the comments 👏

This one is for Microalgae Enthusiasts 🌱
This week we had the chance to meet Sneha and Mohammedhosein, winners of the “Best Poster” prize at the School of Biosystems and Food Engineering and also BiOrbic Researchers from the Microalgae group.
In this video, they shared with us some insights about their work. If you are curious to learn more, you can find their contact info on our website 😁

Did you know BiOrbic’s research is founded on 5 Pillars?
Our research is organised across five interconnected pillars, each addressing critical challenges in the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy.
These include:
1) Healthy Ecosystems
2) Climate Neutral Operational Systems
3) Valorisation of waste resources
4) Bioeconomy Systems
5) Enabling Actions
Over the next few weeks we’ll be diving deeper into what these pillars are all about and what research we’ve been developing in our centre to accelerate the deployment of a resilient Irish Bioeconomy
This is your sign!
Take it ☀️

This Valentine’s Day we share our love for circularity by highlighting the love circles of the bioeconomy!
At biorbic, beyond seeing the bioeconomy as part of the economy that uses renewable biobased resources to produce food, feed, materials and energy, we also put emphasis on waste reduction. By pairing these two concepts, we are able to develop circular systems that work towards achieving a sustainable and climate neutral society.
Want to see if your work fits into the circle? Leave your , and in the comments and let’s chat about the endless possibilities of a Circular Bioeconomy.
