The theme for NWED 2023 is Empowering Business Together.

Calling all SDCC businesses/entrepreneurs - Our Local Enterprise Awards 2023 take place on the 9th March in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel. There are 9 award categories with the winners in each sharing a prize fund of €14,000 and one overall winner will also go on to represent South Dublin in the National Final.

Applications open to any South Dublin County Council area business that has received either a grant or attended training/mentoring or one of programmes!

We know this is going to seem a little early for some people (we're very sorry 😐) but we will be hosting our annual Christmas Craft Fair in Ballyroan Library on Nov 26th and so we are putting out our call for Christmas Crafters who may be interested in taking part this year. Audrey Corrigan of Aud Design is one of our jewellery makers in our SCENe network.

Audrey draws on a wide range of artistic experiences. Following her studies at the prestigious Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Dún Laoghaire Audrey worked for five years as a designer and makeup artist for film, TV, and theatre. She learned the power of creativity and transformation. She worked hard to create an exclusive collection of pieces that incorporate the power of nature and make a subtle statement to project to the world the inner artist in the wearer.

We would like to congratulate our SCENE member Ais Ais Brady for her short film “The Silence Between” which won the Best Film Award at the 2022 South Dublin Shorts Showcase event which took place yesterday 14th of July in Rua Red . 🎬🏆🎉

South Dublin Shorts Showcase is funded by the Ireland South Dublin Programme as part of Southpaw Pictures South Dublin Shorts Showcase.

Sharon Devlin Art is an established, professional Irish artist. We were so impressed by her art display during our photoshoot event! 🎨😍

Sharon uses a wide range of media in her work. For richer, deeper and impactful pieces, she works with oils or acrylics. For more gentle and subtle pieces, she works with watercolours. Sharon also works with mixed media in some of her sculptural pieces. She is inspired by story, folklore, Irish history and the beautiful landscapes and seascapes of Ireland. 🏞🌊

Her work has been commissioned by The Citywest Hotel Dublin, The Harcourt Inn Dublin and in many private national and international collections. Her work has been exhibited in Rua Red Arts Gallery, Tallaght Community Arts Gallery, Straffan Antiques and Design Centre, The Connolly Centre and many group shows at Russborough House Wicklow.
