Our primary activity is TNR as we believe that it is the only humane solution to control the cat population. Our primary consideration is the welfare of feral and stray cats. We believe that unless there is an obvious danger to the welfare of the cat, ferals should remain in their environment. Community Cats Network endeavours to work closely with communities in promoting the importance of neuteri

And even when you want to hide away from the world the phone keeps ringing this little baby was found on a rd near mitchelstown the driver saw her nearly getting hit by car in front and stopped to pick her up 3 weeks old and something obvious wrong with way she was walking our fantastic bottle feeder Theresa came straight away but she didn't fed well the first night the next day she went to vets and had massive infection in back leg after treatment she's improved thank fully taking her bottles playing with her teddy and using her leg she was minutes away from dying until someone decided she was worth saving

This week we were back in ballyporreen again for a few different calls the first was for a beautiful black queen and her baba. The next was for a cat at a place we neutered last month he didn't look well at all mad tested positive for fiv. We had a*o caught a cat in mitchelstown same just didn't look well he also tested positive. This summer has been hard on Tom's we have had to pts so many that were sick all tested positive for fiv I think the heat just knocked them out completely. Neutering cats reduces the chance of them fighting which is the main way it's spread please just neuter the boys they are just as important. Last week we were on holidays and just chilling at home but a call came for a 9 month old ginger boy honestly I hadn't much hope for him but he tested negative was crawling with fleas ears blocked with mites coat in awful condition but all that is fixable so he was neutered and given long acting treatments went back and the day after let the lady feeding rub him . Small win but honestly they make it worth it

Happy
Only a week after loosing buttons happy got a very high temperature on the tues we brought him to vet and started treatment the first day he improved but over next 2 days went downhill dramatically on the Friday he had a scan and it was discovered he had a tumour on his intestines and we had to let him go . Happy loved everyone even when he was a very sick kitten hence the name he looked after every cat that came thru this house when first rescued had holes in his eyes from ulcers and he still danced when he saw me or anyone he loved kittens and with ditto who was rescued the same week as him was the ultimate mama and daddy them . When snowy was first rescued he brought her presents to her crate . The house is not the same without him I keep looking for my boy π

Buttons
Ye probably remember a few weeks ago I introduced Buttons and his siblings one of our volunteers had been feeding mama and daddy we knew she had kittens and just had to wait for her to bring and she did over the course of a few days. Buttons was 1/3 of the size of his siblings from the start they were treated for sore eyes and he was doing well although not gaining weight at all we had him at vets again and he was put on antibiotics and had blood test no obvious thing wrong with him we increased feds and doted on him he was separated from his siblings as they were just too sttong and for a week he improved but then dramatically went down hill again we woke at 5 and he had slipped away in his sleep we are beyond broken we had accepted that he was staying with us if needed but it was not meant to be . To lose a little one is just devastating π
I have so much to update ye all on this last month alot of it is bad , unfortunately it's just been an awful time I had to sit with my grief for a while im going to do some separate posts thru out today there's some good news story's too

Would you like to give a cat its 10th life? ππββ¬?
You could set up a standing order through your banking app to donate monthly. If you donate β¬21 per month this will bring your donation over the threshold of the Revenue's Charitable Donation Scheme, this amount can be given as a single lump sum or accumulated through multiple smaller payments like standing orders or PayPal donations.
When you meet the β¬250 threshold, Revenue applies a blended "grossed-up" rate of 31%. This means your donation effectively represents 69% of the total contribution, allowing us to claim the remaining 31% back in tax. This increases the value of your donation by approximately 44.93% at absolutely no extra cost to you.
It magically turns your β¬250 yearly donation into and extra β¬112.32 bringing your donation to a total of β¬362.32, or in our language... thats 7 cats neutered, with a full health check, de-wormed and de-fleaed.
To help give cats a 10th life you can use our bank details below to setup a monthly standing order.
